Join Caroline as she shares how this very personal story came to be.  She will share an excerpt from this thought-provoking book that covers a time in the not-so-distant past when individuals with Down syndrome did not have same opportunities they do today and when families were advised to made unbelievably hard decisions. Caroline introduces characters that we fall in love with and takes us on a journey that seems almost unbelievable. Incredibly, the novel is based on Caroline Patterson’s personal story. As an adult, she discovered she had an older sister with Down syndrome who had been written out of her family history. Readers will be taken back to the beginnings of the disability justice movement and will be drawn into a story that is truly unforgettable.
